The NCP and its elements should respect the leadership of SPLM and the people of South Sudan. The public opinion in Northern Sudan is that the NCP has left it too late to make the unity of the Sudan attractive to the people of South Sudan. The only honourable thing the NCP must do now is to abide by the CPA and the laws enacted to fully implement the CPA. It must stop using Abyei as a wild card to derail the peace process. Abyei Protocol is part and parcel of the CPA and must be fully implemented.

The role of the identifiers in the registration process is pivotal to ensure that those who are included on the register have got the right to vote as defined by the Constitution and the 2009 Act. They have to be vigilant as attempts could be made to corrupt the process and forfeit the will of the people of Southern Sudan in the forthcoming referendum. It is the responsibility of every Southern Sudan to ensure that his or her vote has not been stolen or tampered with whether inside or outside the Sudan.
